I have always wondered why the Israelites had to wander in the desert for so many years before entering the promised land, but this explanation makes perfect sense. We need to go through the wilderness to realize that we need the Comforter, not the comfort of this world. Thanks for enlightening us all today. I am really gleaming truth as I read and study the pages.

As for denying Christ, The Word very clearly tells us if we deny Him-He WILL deny us, it saddens me to realize where this is headed. BUT He is patiently waiting and it is not too late.
Blessings, My Friend!Loraluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428559311387283317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5416556583423635558.post-42281068341835258432018-10-10T04:41:49.656-05:002018-10-10T04:41:49.656-05:00This is an excellent post, Lulu. Here in the UK for instance, the country is becoming more and more secular; albeit it is Christian by name only. People are influenced by their modern society culture. It is fashionable and "cool" to say we don't believe in God. Celebrities and comedians do it all the time on TV and radio. So why not emulate them? We want to be cool too!

People tend to shy away from admitting/saying they are Christian. Let me give you an example. I led a Christian talk group lately. The discussion was about "Who is Jesus?"

I asked the group, "If you were stopped in the street by one of those opinion poll people, and they asked you, 'Who is Jesus?' what would you say?"

The group responded, "He was a teacher. A healer. A great man. A philosopher,."

No one would say He was the Son of God. When I asked why, they replied that it is not the done thing to talk religion in public, at work or elsewhere. They would be hesitant to say outright in the street who they believed Jesus is.

These are Christian people, Lulu. Influenced by their surroundings, their people, their generations, and knowing how to be "cool".

By the way: total regular Church attendance (all denominations) in the UK is now about 5% of the population. Need I say more?

Thanx for this wonderful post. God bless.Victor S E Moubarakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04280638667651857296noreply@blogger.com
