Since Networked Blogs announced it was no longer providing links with new posts on my blog to Facebook, I have tried to manually post the new blogs each time I have updated. This has lead to the frustration of the link being totally dependent upon me posting early the day the new blog is published. Add to that frustration, the Facebook logarithm of what you see on your news feed, and it would seem many of you are no longer seeing my posts, as I was recently reminded.
There is a really simple solution, if you are interested in seeing my musings. On the right side of the blog page, there are two different options for receiving the new posts--without relying on Facebook. There is a "Followers" button where you can register your real name, or an anonymous name. You do NOT have to post a picture. Your email is not seen by anyone, but you have to provide it to receive the updates. Below that button is a box with Follow by Email. NO ONE sees your email and no name is ever posted to correspond with this. You will receive the updates, via your email account.
Please consider one of these alternatives. I have found another solution which would post all updates to Facebook as in the past, BUT the technology is above my pay grade and technical abilities.
Computers are wonderful--UNTIL they do not work as you thought they would!
Tomorrow brings a new blog post--It's Me
Thank you for always hanging in there with me and continuing to read! I value each and every read and love to hear your comments--on the blog or on Facebook.

I think the same happened to me with Twitter. I had a system whereby each Blog post title and link went automatically to Twitter. This has now stopped. So I have to link my posts to Twitter myself every few days.
ReplyDeleteAre you on Google+ Lulu? Have you tried linking your Blog posts to Google+? Easier than Facebook; I find.
God bless.
Yes, it happened with Twitter too. I am on Google+, but most of my readers catch me on Facebook. It’s difficult to break old habits. There is a new way to link, ITTT. Unfortunately I can’t figure it out😖 We live in a very technical world!

Lulu, I get you in two places - through blogger and by email. I can manually post my blog on Facebook, and even go to many Christian groups to post there, so I'm not sure what issue you are facing right now. Anyway, know I enjoy your posts, and so glad I got to know you through Ceil. I wish she'd get back to blogging!

ME TOO! Such a gifted writer! Once upon a time there was an app (Networked Blogs) which would automatically post your new blogs to Facebook and Twitter for you. They went away and now, I have to post them manually too. I time my blogs to appear at 4:00 AM automatically and it is most of the time a couple of hours later before I post them to Facebook. Minor inconvenience--but in this computer age, WHY?

I haven't really noticed big changes...I sign in using either the Tablet, Laptop or my desktop...right now I'm at school, so it's either the Tablet or laptop. The changes come from side of things, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely day my friend.
It's the Facebook crowd who are having the problem. They rely upon the link to go to the blog and thus the problem.
