On one of my frequent visits to the Jennings abode, I found she had rearranged her great room furniture. Immediately this little spark deep down inside me starts to grow and soon becomes a full fledged bonfire. The next time I clean house, I find myself shoving furniture around in the quest for new--better--different. Perhaps we are like children--if you place their toys in a different room or setting--they treat them like they have never seen them before. Whatever the deep psychological reason (HONESTLY I am NOT that deep)--I now have a living area that looks totally different--not even close to the same room.
An added benefit of this compulsive foray into furniture relocation---deep cleaning takes place at the same time. I am happy to say that I have located all those missing Doritos-half eaten cookies-wrappers from many snacks-important mail--bank statements--books half read--nail clippers--emery boards-game pieces--toy soldiers--blocks--and little cars-trucks--AND OH YES--Mr. Potato Head's nose under the couch, chair and in between the cushions of the same. I also discovered what happens to a great deal of the dust and dirt that I push around while cleaning---it is behind, under, or hidden by the same furniture that I am pushing around. SO while re-arranging the furniture-everything gets a good deep cleaning. WIN WIN
I am happy to report that I am now living in a much cleaner and better arranged living area. Clean---Better Order---Neatly Arranged--Things as they should be.
What if we could do the same with our inner-most beings? What if we could take the personality traits we have and re-arrange them into a new arrangement? What if we could place those traits that are most God-like and seeking in the front to be seen by all? What if we could put those traits that are self serving and self seeking in the closet with the door tightly closed? What if as we re-arranged, we could clean up the dirt and dust created by our poor previous arrangement? What if we consulted the Great Decorator about how He wanted those traits arranged and used? What if we took inventory and re-arranged on a regular basis? The resulting proper order and the freedom from the dirt--could leave the best arrangement ever---the line of vision to Him would be unencumbered and He would shine as the center-piece of our heart.
What if---Why not?
I am thankful and God gave me the opportunity to meet, support and bless
another writer today on a street in Dallas--all quite by chance.
He encouraged me and I encouraged him, as God blessed us both. TOTALLY HIS PLAN
