NOT ME

I seem to have reverted back to my early years and begun going to a new "Sunday School" class that is being offered at my church.  Four learned men are rotating the teaching of Ephesians and it has been a huge blessing to sit and listen to their deep explanations and then discuss The Word.  This last week we talked about the first section of chapter two,  a wonderful synopsis of the Gospel story.  What really struck me was the last verse of this section, verse 10.

For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
 which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Many of you are extremely kind and tell me how much you enjoy my muses.  Here is my take away from this verse~if you are touched by anything I write, it has nothing to do with me or my abilities.  It is all about God.  We are all created to use our gifts and talents for His Good Glory and Pleasure.  HE gave us those gifts and when you are touched or inspired  by what I have to say, it is  not me, but by the Holy Spirit interpreting for you.  Without the Holy Spirit quickening what I am feebly trying to say, it would all be garbled gobbledygook.

NOT ONE THING that we do can earns our way into Heaven.  It is very clearly stated in the two verses before

For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God,
NOT A RESULT OF WORKS,
so that no one my boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

This could be the very reason some of the posts seem to be blah at best to me, but those very posts are the ones that are commented on the most.  The Holy Spirit has interpreted my feeble attempt and somehow I am given the credit.  It is NOT me---it is Him---ALWAYS HIM!

What a joy and privilege to post what has been placed upon my heart and you "get it".  But make no mistake--I KNOW it is not ME---it is ALWAYS HIM!

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
II Corinthians 15:58

  3. You are so right about this, Lulu. Indeed, if our words inspire anyone, it's because we are allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through us. Can't begin to tell you how many times I've felt His presence when writing, especially when I was working on my novels. It is an amazing and humbling experience!
    Blessings!

    1. Yes, to know that our Mighty God, who is able to do all things, would chose to use us in all our humanness is very humbling!
      Blessings, My Friend!

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
