ADVENT- DAY 7 - ORIGINAL MULTI-TASKERS

Women especially are required to be multi-taskers on many occasions.  In today's hurry scurry world, balancing all the balls in the air when a wife, mother, professional, household manager, volunteer, and on and on can be quite daunting.  Needing to be at several places, doing several things, and all requiring our close attention is a task for Superwoman.  During those years when I kept all those balls in the air, I laughingly called myself Superwoman.  Those cute pups from "Paw Patrol" have a great line which describes the role we often play~    "NO JOB IS TOO BIG, NO PUP IS TOO SMALL!"  It took a long time for me to recognize---I was no multi-tasker.  I got a huge amount of things done---but almost always one thing at a time.  Though we might feel like we were doing several things at once---the truth is---we only have two hands and one brain----multi-tasking leads to poorly done tasks.

Perhaps the most overworked character in the Christmas story is the angels.  It all begins with the angel notifying Zechariah and Elizabeth of the impending birth of a son in their old age.  NOW that story would be difficult to sell.    Then they were required to convince a young teen and her husband to be that she would indeed give divine birth so that God could send His Redeemer Son.  NEXT they had to convince a bunch of shepherds they should leave the sheep and go see the baby.  AND they gave the first Christmas concert---again to the Shepherds. The Angel  then went to Joseph again--to warn him to take Mary and the baby and flee to Egypt out of the clutches of Herod.  And the last deed was appearing to Joseph in a dream and telling to to return to return to Israel following Herod's death.  One troop of characters who played perhaps the busiest roles in the entire Christmas story.  The epitome of multi-taskers and all decreed and ordered by God.  The Heavenly Host---God's messengers.  He speaks and they obey--doing His biddings.  As we ponder the coming celebration, let us be aware of God's multi-taskers--His messengers--His Heavenly Choir.  Pause, reflect and consider the wonder of God's provision to communicate His plan to redeem a lost world.  SO THANKFUL!

"And the angel said to them,

'Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy

that will be for all the people.' "

Luke 2:10

  2. One of our former pastors when he prayed would praise God that He was sending angels to answer according to His will. Angels singing Holy, Holy, Holy around His throne and lots of other tasks❤️❤️❤️

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
