UNLIMITED LOVE

I often see this phrase on line when loved ones are talking about how much they love  each other~

Did you realize this phrase comes from the children's book Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.  "In the book Big Nutbrown Hare tells Little Nutbrown Hare, 'I love you to the moon and back,' after kissing him goodnight and settling him into his bed of leaves.  The moon's symbolism of life, eternity, and love may also contribute to the phrase's power." Dr. Google

When I thank God for His creation of love (He is the author of all emotion), I am reminded of the vastness of the universe He created.  God's love is not limited to the constraints of distance, time, circumstances, or any of the limitations we humans place upon it.  There is another phrase---"Love has its limits".  We all think our love for another is limitless---but is it?  That is a deep-deep subject.  My personal thought is that love can be very close to the emotion of hate.  They both are intense---and usually produced by our connection -our relationship with another.  That is NOT where we are headed today---back to how much we love another.

There is another phrase, "Testing the limits of love".  I did a summary reading of the explanation of this phrase and discovered when we engage in the act of testing a loved ones limits it comes from a lack of trust and a lack of self-esteem.  That is not where we are going either. On to the point!

Recently I heard a sermon which so subsequently explained the depths of God's love for us that I came away with a new understanding of how really deep love can really be.  I had a limited understanding of God's immense love but this one statement gave an even greater depth of meaning.  It explains the limitless boundaries of God's love better than I have ever heard.  I will end with the statement and leave you to ponder---it bears thinking over.

"GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH

HE & JESUS WERE WILLING TO LOSE EACH OTHER

WHILE HE WAS ON THE CROSS."

"But you, Lord,

are a compassionate and gracious God,

slow to anger,

ABOUNDING in love and faithfulness."

Psalm 86:15

  1. Willing to lose one another in order to reach out in love for us . . . Powerful, powerful reflection here today, Lulu. Yes, it's hard to believe in our finite human minds, but it is the truth that God loves us all, even when we can never deserve it.
    Blessings!

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
