In the deepest dark of the night, it never fails to amaze me how even the dimmest of light can seem to light up the world. Once again---I am amazed when I ponder our creation. The Master Creator knew we would be faced with deep dark at times. He created our eyes so that the pupil adjusts to the lighting we are surrounded by. When the sun is glaring, a spotlight seems to be shining upon us, the world is filled with light---our pupils contract--sometimes to almost a pinpoint to allow only the light we need to reflect off the lens in our eye. When it is dark, the pupil reacts by opening up to a full circle and allowing as much light as possible in. My bedroom has a transom window above the two regular sized windows. This was the style when the house was built in 1917. I keep the blinds closed at night for obvious reasons. The transom window I do not keep a curtain or blinds over. The light from the neighbors outdoor lighting is just enough to allow me to see to walk around with no lights on. Our eyes are a marvelous creation---adjusting to the level of light available.
This wonderful marvel of creation allowed the shepherds make the trek in the dark of night to see the new born king. It also allowed them to see the baby when they arrived at the stable. For those of you who are not familiar with stables---before the invention of the electric light---they were dark. The hay which is highly flammable created a danger if a fire was near it. SO, in my pondering, I decided the stars in the sky---perhaps the moon---and the Bethlehem Star created enough light for them to see the Baby. All for God's good purpose and planned out long before man inhabited God's World. What a marvelous wonder! What a gift of creation! Even in the deep dark---we are able to see with only a little light. Just enough light to see Jesus.
"Make your light shine,
so others will see the good you do
and praise your
Father in Heaven."
Matthew 5:16
Oh, Lord, open our eyes that we might see your glory! Blessings, Lulu!
