THE ICING ON THE CAKE

I am very picky about the types of cake that I eat---not a huge cake lover--much rather have a piece of pie on most occasions.  The cake I do like--almost always has icing on it!

I love chocolate cake with chocolate icing--there is nothing quite like an old fashioned chocolate sheet cake!

Then there is an Italian Cream Cake--NO WORDS!

"The Icing on the Cake"---the cake by itself would be delicious---BUT put that icing on top---and there you go---HEAVENLY!  

From out of no-where (DO YOU BELIEVE THAT?) it hit me as I was painting---Heaven is the icing on the cake!  I am blessed beyond measure by God choosing me---I am His beloved---His love is far greater than my wildest dream.  THEN on top of that---He sent Jesus---because He loves me so- to ensure an eternal relationship with Him.  He is present with me--by my side--His Spirit lives in me.  He allows me to be His hands and feet--here on this earth---He chose me! He is my provider, my redeemer, my healer, my comforter, my encourager---He is my God.

The promise of Heaven is the icing on the cake---

"For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don't know which is better. I'm torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me."
