RESULTS ARE IN AND
Our neighborhood came in SECOND (wow!) in pounds per household
donated. How much did we donate? 847 pounds of food, and most of
it was protein. (Food banks often have lots of carbs and run short of
protein.)
We had a GREAT neighborhood chairperson who kept us all spurred on.
THE CHILDREN RETURNED TO SCHOOL LAST WEEK---
No sidewalks in sight--but walking together is showing unity!
There is a stream of children every morning walking the few blocks to school.
MEANWHILE--
Most of my week was spent on the other side of town with this guy-
I only had to chase after one--my question is HOW does his mother chase after three and WHAT will we do with a new baby in the mix in January! She gets my vote for SUPER WOMAN!
AND---SHHHHHHH!--
I am on a quick road trip---little FUN & R&R before Fall schedule begins. We will see just WHO among my kith & kin reads my missives---since I have not told a soul!

ROAD TRIP!!! How fun! We were just discussing about next summer, we never did get to Niagara Falls this summer (mere 80 miles to our west), next summer I would like to go over to Boston (8 hrs drive) and see Old Ironside again. 20+ yrs ago we saw the USS Consititution..anyways...HOW FUN for you...chanting..ROADTRIPROADTRIP! (giggling)--great post, by the way..Blessings
ReplyDeleteLinda, I am shamed to admit that while daughter lived in Erie for 4 years--I never saw Niagara Falls. Perhaps that had something to do with a move and two babies born 18 months apart?
DeleteA road trip! How cool! I'm sure if you're on it, it'll be a grand adventure.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

Hi Lulu! Congratulations on the food collection! And it's true about the protein thing. Carbs are so much cheaper, it's hard to get donations of meats/beans.
ReplyDeleteYour little guy is adorable! And I guess there are a few more at home like him, and another soon? You will be a busy Grandma. Good thing you are taking to the road, have so much fun! Oh, and be careful too! Can't wait to hear all about your adventures :)
Blessings,
Ceil
