Believe me--there is certainly plenty to be fearful about! The end may come today!
BUT- I choose to not be fearful and not let any fears rule my life. I have lived long enough to know---if it all goes to hell in a hand basket tomorrow----I will still be here--until He calls me Home! What is the worst that could happen---I could die tomorrow in a terrorist attack or by some other dreaded means--and be called home to Glory. I put my faith and trust in Jesus!
LONG AGO---a group of lowly shepherds were visited by an angel of the Lord and the GLORY of the Lord shone all around them---
AND THEY WERE TERRIFIED!
And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid!" There you go---God does NOT want us to be afraid. So how many times is "Fear Not" in The Word-------THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE!!! One time for every day of the year!! God does NOT want us to live in fear!
So the Syrian refugees may be allowed to enter the US---FEAR NOT!
So the political future of the US is grim---FEAR NOT!
So the economy may tank and all be lost---FEAR NOT!
So I may have a life threatening illness---FEAR NOT!
Whatever fear threatens to control your life---FEAR NOT---GOD is in control---HE holds us in His hand---He knows what the future holds---
DO NOT LIVE IN FEAR---live in hope--the hope found in Him! There is one who desires for you to live in the darkness of fear---paralyzed and unable to function---this is playing into the enemies hands---negating your effectiveness for the Kingdom. Stand back---claim the power of God Almighty and FEAR NOT!
For HE brought us GOOD NEWS OF GREAT JOY--that we might be redeemed and live in fear no more. FEAR NOT!
'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
Isaiah 41:10

Good point Lulu. My real fear is that "if it all goes to hell in a hand basket" as you sau, there will always be someone who wants you to pay your taxes. Or is it taxis? Phew ... I always take the bus. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. But I've been told that to control fear you must become fear. And when I'm waiting for the bus to control the bus I think like a bus and become a bus. And everyone in the bus stop wonders what is going on.
ReplyDeleteI lost my train of thought for a moment there. My bus was derailed if you pardon the mixed metaphor.
But you're right Lulu. We have nothing to fear if we truly believe in Our Lord.
God bless.
Thank you for another laugh, Victor/
