AND TUESDAY'S WORD IS

There is no rule to which you must conform (that word) that states you may only submit one word.  Yesterday's contributor submitted this word within a very short period of time after they sent in TIME.  At times I catch myself wondering what the submitter was thinking when they sent a word to me.  THAT is not the point.  This is an exercise in reminding us all of how God created us uniquely.  What I am thinking may be FAR from what hits you initially.  Are we not all glad we are different from each other?  What a boring world this would be if we were all cut from the same pattern.

Bless their heart, they not only sent a word in, but gave me a quote ~

"A man who has his health has a thousand wishes,

a man that does not has only one."

This seems to say if we are not in good health, we desire nothing more than to have good health.  Well until we get that good health and then the flood gates are opened to all those other thousand wishes.

Here is a fact of life for the majority of us  ~

Some day we will get sick

As that great philosopher said ~

I have reached the season of life where, if it has not already happened, you are living in expectation of something falling apart.  It is a fact of life that our bodies wear out.  So far, though I have had some scares, my health has remained good (I AM knocking on my wooden head).  I understand my time is coming, but I prefer it takes its time getting here.  I DO NOT take good health for granted.

The thing about it is many of my peers are making more and more frequent visits to the doctor.  Sitting in waiting rooms and waiting for test results can be nerve wrecking.  With so many medical specialties, we can wake up one day and realize we are shuffling from doctor to doctor for a variety of ailments.  We can become consumed with keeping this aging body above ground.  Our days are spent in pursuit of the fleeting concept of good health.

Good and bad health rains on the good and bad alike.  Some are plagued with a lifetime condition which requires all their resources to keep them going.  This pandemic has been a timely reminder of how quickly our health can change.  Who knows who is next to come down with the deadly virus, who knows who will be the one to become dangerously ill, and who knows who will be taken from us.  We are now losing the young as well as the old.  Good health one moment and the next breath we are headed down the slippery slope of declining health.

My take away ~

I am not speaking of taking preventative meds.  I am speaking of the health of your soul.  Do NOT wait for the bell to toll.  Search your soul and be sure the diagnosis is

I urge you to take good care of your physical health to ensure a good life while here on this earth.  Most importantly, I urge you to take care of your spiritual health to ensure an eternal life.  Which is more important working to stay here as long as possible or seeking God's will for your abundant life while here?

"19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

I Corinthians 6:19-20

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
