REARRANGING

For some reason I occasionally get a bee in my bonnet to rearrange the furniture in a room.  You never know unless you try---Can I get an AMEN, Girls?  I will say after years of re-arranging rooms and sometimes putting them right back the way I started, I have gotten a little smarter about it all in my old age.  This time I called my sweet niece to run my idea by her before disabling my back while moving furniture to see if I will like it.

Bless her patient heart, she always comes when I call.  We stand in the room and I tell her what I have in mind.  I also explain the decorating rule I believe I am breaking by moving the bed in order to have a chair by the window to sit and gaze out as I read ( nosily watch to see who is out walking the hood).  She quickly tells me my idea has good Feng Shui.  WHO ???  WHAT???

So I look up this Feng Shui and here is one of the things I found ~

Since we tend to spend upward of eight hours a day in this sacred space, we should try to maximize its feng shui to its fullest potential. Before getting started, I recommend a quick decluttering and energy clearing to bust through any negativity in the air. Consider burning sage, palo santo, or cedar to cleanse the space of negative energy. This will ensure that you have a fresh foundation on which to build the bedroom's chi (life force energy).

OOPS---I read this after the deed and have not burned any sage, palo santo, or cedar (or any other plant).  I thought I gave it a thorough cleaning while moving things around, but obviously that was not enough.  I need to "cleanse the space of negative energy."  That must be the stuff that makes me toss and turn some nights and wakes me up at 4 AM.  My smoke alarm is very sensitive, perhaps I will save the smoking out the bad stuff for next time.

SO I move everything in the room---ALL OF IT!  The good news, I like the new arrangement.  The bad news, no stumbling around in the dark headed to the bathroom until I get used to the new arrangement.  OH--and by the way---The Wonder Dog is NOT real happy with me.  He can now see out the window---he will grow to love it.

The bottom line---I have taken all the furniture that was in my bedroom and put it in a new place in the same room.  The room has a totally different feel, but there is one undeniable fact, it is the same old stuff in the same room.

NO--I have not lost it (Yet!).  I am headed somewhere with the boring news I have rearranged my bedroom furniture.

Have you ever turned over a new leaf in life?  Have you decided to rearrange your schedule, get more sleep, eat right, study more, or any other great plan to have a better life?  That all sound really good--except did you remember to burn some plant to cleanse yourself of the negative vibes?  Well, not really burn a plant, but perhaps change the things that are dragging you down.  Have you considered if you are not omitting the negatives in your life that you are really only rearranging what you already had?  It may look better--have a more pleasant Feng Shui, but have you really changed anything?  It reminds me of the sin in my life--until I am willing to repent--change--leave it behind--it will continue to drag me down.  I will not live my best--most abundant life--until I make that necessary change.  Until I leave my sin and change my life---cleanse the negative energy, I will only be rearranging the same old stuff.  Think that over before you tackle the task of maximizing your Feng Shui.

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

  1. What a wonderful analogy, Lulu! Yes, we can rearrange the same old stuff over and over, but until we let go of the negative, we really haven't made a change at all.

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
