BLOG UPDATE

NEWS FLASH--I consider today the last day of Spring and tomorrow the first official day, on my calendar, of Summer.  I know the summer solstice is not for three more weeks, but summer always begins in my head when school is out for summer break.

I have been doing LOTS of thinking about my time on social media, which often revolves around checking blog comments.  This then leads to surfing around the WWW.  It is no secret I think social media has not been a good thing for society.  The wonderful thing about I phones (the bad things I will save for an entire post another day) is it tells you how much time you have spent on the phone in 24 hours and which apps you were using.  My incessant checking of email, texts, and blog comments has shown me how much time I spend staring at the tiny screen.   It is time to push the reset button and  severely limit my time on line at least for the Summer.

Also, though I love to write---it should never become a chore and I do put a great deal of pressure on myself to pen daily blogs.  Yes, the real blogs are only 5 days a week, but that sounds a great deal like a job.  It is not a job, but my driven personality makes it sometimes feel like a job.

SO with much thought & prayer, I am taking a semi break this summer from writing.  Hopefully this will be relaxing and rejuvenating.  I will come back in the Fall with my battery fully charged and hopefully new ideas I have been inspired with. I do not want to completely lose touch with all of you, Dear Friends so,   I will post a blog twice a week. BUT I will not put the link on Facebook since I am taking a summer break from social media.  If you enjoy reading my thoughts, please make certain you are signed up to receive the link by email when I do write.  The form is on the right side of the blog page.  If you are having trouble, contact me with your email address and I will sign you up.  My email is convilles@gmail.com or there is a contact form on the bottom right of the blog page.  I will miss the daily writing ritual, but also look forward to a less demanding summer schedule.  My daughter asked me how I will spend this block of newly found time---we shall see.

I am praying you all have a wonderful summer.  Mine will include Grand time which is always fun.  God knew the importance of rest when He gave us the Sabbath.  I am asking Him to speak to me in a meaningful way as I back way and clear my head in this season of rest.  I will keep in touch and hopefully hear from you on my reduced schedule.  May God give us all the reminder of His Certain Presence.

"And he said, 'My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.' ”

  1. Taking a break from blogging can be rejuvenating, indeed, Lulu! I plan to do the same for most of June as Virginia will be here with us. It also might be a time when I'm not able to read as many blogs from others as I will be occupied with her and with traveling. I'll stay tuned in the best I can!
    Blessings!

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
