  1. Learnt two new words in this post - SUCCOTASH and DUKKAH.

I note that the appartment has a Cross on the wall. Sadly, in secular Britain we don't do this. I have put a Cross at the front of our house. At Christmas and Easter our church gives us posters to stick on our windows proclaiming these feasts. Again, not many people do so; but it's nice to walk down the street and see that a few people have put the posters up.

Hope you have a great time at your school reunion.

By the way, the photos have made me hungry.

    God bless.

    1. Succotash is delish! Dukkah--was a new taste--liked it! So glad I am able to feel freedom to place this cross on the apartment, Victor! The reunion was wonderful---post coming tomorrow!
      Blessings!

  2. I am wondering about what Victor said, is it because religion is highly regulated/rules over there??? I was reading something about that....can't rightly remember where or what.

ANYWAYS---I love the cross and would rent from you in a heartbeat, just knowing what I know about you...smiles---hey---50 years?? NOWAY. Smiles

    1. Hi Linda,

No, I don't think it's because religion is regulated over here. It is more because people no longer believe in God. Regular church attendances are falling.

The number of people attending Church of England services each week has this year dropped below 1 million – accounting for less than 2% of the population – with Sunday attendances falling to 760,000. Our population is over 60 million. If you add all attendances in all churches regardless of denominations it account for about 10% of the population.

Christianity is often mocked, or denied, by celebrities and opinion formers on TV/radio. If a celebrity or politician openly declares he is a Christian he will not go far in his career. We "don't do God" in politics over here.

As for your second comment; I don't think Lulu is old enough to attend a 50th Reunion.

      God bless.

    1. Dukkah, I believe, is an Egyptian style of rub. It was really good, but very different. Post on the reunion coming tomorrow. It was a wonderful weekend!
      Blessings, My Friend

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
