ESCAPE FROM THE HOOD

I escaped from the hood
With a brief stop
in Ruston-
My Hometown.
With NEVER
Enough time to see
Those Dear Friends!

From there I journeyed to
South Louisiana
To help
With the flood recovery.

The job entailed
Prepping, Sanding, & Priming
The wood trim and shop
Of a house.

Mr S who is 90
Just wants to be back
In his home.

The area still has tens of thousands of houses
which are uninhabitable.

The area has suffered a tremendous blow
Which will take years to recover from.

We went to see
"Among The Discarded"
A Documentary
About The Homeless
A Ministry
Close to my heart.
Trent Soto-The Man Behind It All
Is inspiring others to become involved.

Had Thanksgiving Lunch
With these dear friends.

And sat in front of this
wonderful fire
every night.

BACK ON THE ROAD
HEADED TO THE HOOD!

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
