This past weekend I kept this little wonder and the other grandparents kept these three amigos (so many children in the shoe, we don't know what to do so, we divide and conquer-or more like survive.)
while their mom went to a Beth Moore conference. #1 Daughter's first BM --we had a short de-briefing, which I am certain, will lead to more conversation. We both came away with the same opinion--what a mighty instrument of God!
My first BM conference was with my sister in laws and I must confess I went mainly to spend time with those two dear friends. The wonderful surprise was how I came away inspired, invigorated, and ready to fight the good fight once again. Camille came away with a similar experience.
As I have thought this over, here is my take away. We all need to use whatever tools we have at hand to remind us to continually seek Him. He is always there--but we allow this busy world to take priority and loose focus as life whirls around us. We forget the real Love of our Life when we get wrapped up in loving life or perhaps just trying to survive. There comes a time when we need to throw on the brakes--examine our lives and schedules and remember what is important. We need to remember the well spring of love and grace and regroup and return to that which will sustain us.
God has given us the tools to live life to its fullest--but we are in charge of seeking those answers. Only if we spend time seeking Him and His will, are we going to be able to successfully traverse the path He has for us. Be it Beth Moore, Sabbath Worship, deep discussions of Godly topics, time with His Word, or time in the closet--we must--we need--we thrive on seeking Him.
You come away from BM realizing this highly successful teacher and author is a humble seeker. She has not read through The Book one time and patted herself on the back for a job well done. She continues to dig, continues to work to draw along side Him and spends a great deal of her days seeking Him. She is a living dynamo of contagious enthusiasm who He has chosen to use to reach the lost, the dying, the disenchanted, the depressed, the over-whelmed, all of us who want to throw in the towel and hide in the cave and certainly even those who just might need a little jump start.
From one brief conversation, not even going to the conference, I came away reminded of what He desires for me. He wants me to seek Him and His Kingdom--fearlessly, earnestly, fervently, and with endurance. His desire is to continue to sanctify me by my turning from the world and drawing close to Him. He will do ALL the hard part--all I have to do is-
But seek ye first The Kingdom of God, and his righteousness
and all these things shall be added unto you.
