CARRY THEIR BURDEN

Life is beginning to settle down after my move just over a week ago.  Slowly but surely I am making a home.  With four moves in six years, I have learned one extremely important lesson, home is not a building.  Home is a place within your heart.  I am happy to be back in the area that my heart has called home almost my entire life.

Moving is a big job and stress comes with the process of moving.  What has made it all so much easier and even a smooth process is all the friends and family who have stepped up to help.  Those that came to unload the truck, those that came to unpack boxes, those who brought meals, those who brought groceries, those who hung pictures, those who made our beds, and even the sweet friend who came and held The Wonder Dog who was way out of his comfort zone.  Before I ever made it to the city limits, friends cleaned and painted getting it all ready for the move.  The love and support of family and friends have been the backbone of helping me climb the mountain of negotiating a two state move.

As I have thought over God's provision for a smooth transition from being a Texan to once again being a Bayou State resident, I thought of all our neighbors in South Texas and Louisiana.  They are beginning the long process of rebuilding after the devastating floods.  It is time for us to be good neighbors.  So many do not have extended support systems and if they do--many of their family and friends are in the same situation.  It is time to assess and determine what we can do to be good neighbors.  We are charged with taking care of one another and the time of need is great and now.  I encourage all of us to decide what we can do--how we can help--and step up to the plate.  Be a good neighbor--take care of one another--and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

2 Carry each other’s burdens,
and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

  2. What a lovely post and I sure can hear the happiness, Lulu. smiles...I am glad you have friends and family who you can count on. We have a select few of friends we can count on here, isn't it sad how life is? (or is it? thought to ponder on, smiles)

The good Lord puts us in place where he wants us to be and the same with friends and family...smiles

    1. Yes, He does!. The world is a changed place- with technology we have become more isolated sadly. I have had more conversations in a week than in a year in Fort Worth. That is another blog in itself!
      Blessings, My Friend!

  3. Sounds like you're transitioning with energy, grace, and wisdom, Lulu ... with an eye and heart open for those who are experiencing the horrors of displacement and grief.

You are a good neighbor, for sure ... thanks for prompting us to go and do likewise.

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
