UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

Is there a television show named, "Unsolved Mysteries"?  I am not much of a television watcher, but this seems to ring a bell.  Many of my fellow readers are mystery genre addicts.  Not my favorite genre, I have tried too many mysteries that I figured out "who done it" way before the last page.  If I read a mystery I want to be surprised---if possible on the last few pages.  A book with several hundred pages all devoted to building the case exposing the guilty does not do much for me.

Our lives also have unexplained mysteries in them.  There was a list I ran across once upon a time that contained a few of those mysteries ~

How did they get that white stuff in the middle of the Twinkie?

When I erase a word with a pencil, where does it go?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the container?

Why do they report power outages on television?

Why do we press the remote harder when you know the battery is dead?

There are mysteries which are not so silly, but I have stopped to think about~

Why does the rooster crow at daylight?

How does a mosquito know I would make a good meal?

Did God know the perfect combination of gases we would need to breath to sustain our lives before He created us? Or did he create us knowing what gases were present?

If cooling our bodies helps medically at times,                                  what is the magic degree mark that is too cold?

What is more influential genes or environment?

How much time do I have left here?

THEN there are those deep - profound- mysteries of life.  Why is there so much pain in life?  Why is there war?  What causes man's inhumanity to his fellow man?  Why do some die so young?  Are we in the ends of times?  Where did God come from?  BIG Mysteries!  I take great comfort in this from God's Word~

"The secret things belong to the Lord our God,

but the things revealed belong to us

and to our children for ever."

Deuteronomy 29:29

  1. There are mysteries we are simply not meant to figure out, Lulu. But I think that it makes for a more intriguing and satisfying life.

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
