ALL SHOOK UP!

I came home from Beth Moore inspired and motivated.  That little lady has so much passion for The Gospel it spills over and out onto all those hearing her teaching.  As always--God seared several truths on my heart which I feel especially motivated to share.  Spoiler alert---if you are attending one of her meetings this year---this will be the topic--but I am only able to touch on a fraction of her good word.




If you happen to pass by me on the street and I seem to be doing a mystical gyration dance with arms flailing---I am practicing what I have learned.





SHAKE IT OFF!

We all are covered with the dust and dirt the world has thrown at us---and it is time to get rid of it.  Beth suggested physically brushing yourself off-from head to toe- in an act of getting rid of The World and all its negatives.  I thought this a splendid suggestion---so if you see me doing the "Shake It Off"--you can be assured I am getting rid of the dirt and moving on down the road.



It is no secret how I have struggled with rejection.  That slimy serpent has reminded me over and over of how I have been rejected.  Well here is what I say to that---TAKE A HIKE, SATAN!  I am shaking off these negative thoughts---rejecting him and his plan to drag me down---and remembering what I know to be the truth--

I AM --beautiful in HIS eyes
I AM--a good friend to many
I AM--one who loves to laugh and am fun to be with
I AM--pretty smart on my good days
I AM--loyal to a fault
I AM--a servant to many
I AM--HIS beloved

So I shake off the lies I have been fed by the world and the old prince of darkness and I remember what He who loves me best has told me
about his faithful love and presence in my life.

And most important,  I remember Jesus knew and understood rejection. And His answer when we have been rejected-

If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
Matthew 10:14

And I am not just dusting the dirt off my feet---I resemble a dog who has rolled in the dirt---I am shaking all the dirt off---from top to bottom and moving forward and toward the One who has never rejected me.

    Remember always that you are a special person, a unique person, a one-of created by God. There are no rejects on God's production line. Everyone is perfect in his or her own way. Everyone is loved. Not just by Him, but you are loved by your family, friends and all those who know you; including those who read you on your Blog.

    If you have been rejected in the past, then it says more about the person who rejected you than it says about you. It is their loss. It is they who are missing out on a kind, generous, bubbly person who is fun to be with. Shake the dust off your feet and move on. Forgive, try to forget, (not always possible), and pray for those who have hurt you. It is impossible to hate someone you are praying for.

  2. Shake shake shake your bootie..!!!! My mom used have a saying about about getting rid of bad feelings,, be it physical or mental... "Just call it off". I can still hear her saying it..."I'm just calling this off today. Jesus can handle this for me." Similar to "shaking it off". Great post. I have heard Beth Moore before. She is truly an inspiration.
