BLESSING BOOMERANG

Could I even begin to explain to you how much more I am blessed by volunteering than I ever bless?  It is impossible to put it into words.  It is a proverbial blessing boomerang--you thrown it out and it comes right back to you.  I ended the school year yesterday with my sweet Ruby.  How I wish I could show you a picture of this precious child--but we are pledged to protect those in our care--which means no exposure on the WWW.

Ruby made this poster as a thank you gift and presented it to me.  It represents her sound trouncing of me in "Go Fish" and "Sorry" almost every time we played this year and our funny attempts at crafts.  You do remember the this should be a turkey project

How we laughed!  I left her a little teary eyed yesterday--but expectant over our last year together come the fall.  What a blessing to watch this child grow up over the past three years.

We are blessed with the Gifts of the Spirit by the Father.  Gifts which are given to empower us to do what He calls us to do.  While the biggie gifts are the listed in I Corinthians 12, we also find a sprinkling of other gifts Romans 12.  And this reminder:

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
Romans 12:6

And the exhortation following this verse to use those gifts.  I am reminded of the old saying--

There will be a day of accountability and we will be reminded of how we used our talents.  Did we take what was lavished upon us and stick it in the sock drawer for a better day or did we pour out the endless stream of blessings?  Did it grow or did it wither and die?

Pondering--always pondering--How He would use me today---and bless me yet again.

There are different kinds of gift, but the same Spirit.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are different kinds of working,
but the same God works all of them in all men.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit
is given for the common good.
I Corinthians 12:4-7

  1. What a wonderful post, Lulu. Thank you for sharing your moment of happiness with us.

I am sure these children will remember you and the time spent with you when they grow up to be adults. And, hopefully, they will thank you in their prayers.

    God bless.

    1. The only sad thing about the time is we are not sllowed to share our faith. I might have let it slip a tone or two though-quite by accident-NOT! They bless me, Victor!
      Blessings, My Friend!

    2. You may not be allowed to share your Faith, Lulu; but leave it to God. In His time and in His way He'll make sure those children will one day get to know Him.

It's the same over here. God is not allowed in schools, hospitals, government, family, and I guess He is not allowed in some churches either.

      God bless.

    1. Yes, Linda, we might offend someone. As if separation from The Father will not eternally offend you! I am always listening for openings to share enticing tidbits!
      Blessings, Sweet Friend!

  3. I love that you do this, Lulu. I'm still in the early stages of figuring out what that might look like in this new community. But I think I see a door that just might swing open ...

Thanks for this challenge today. You're spurring me on in my journey to move ahead, friend ... and I so appreciate it.

    1. One of the first things I did after moving was find places to serve Him and use the gifts He has given me. It has been a blessing! Anxious to hear where He plants you, Friend!
      Blessings!

  4. In the book of Esther, God is not mentioned. Yet, He is glorified. Sometimes just our silent presence is all we can do but God will magnify it to His glory and in His time.
When we serve others, we serve God.
May your day be blessed. ~:)

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
