A CLEAN SLATE?

Today we all have a clean slate-the opportunity to begin again-and hopefully do better----or is that even possible?

The grands have a magna doddle-u know one of those devices that allows you to write using a magnetic pencil.  When you are finished you pull a lever and it releases the charge and the image disappears.  No trace or so it seems-if you look closely there is always the remaining traces of what you drew or wrote.

So it is with technology today-we are under the illusion we can delete words we have written on the WWW or on our computers.  They are never completely gone-somewhere in the vast world technology there is evidence of your post.

So no the slate is never clean, but instead we are building on our past-good & bad. It is not all good nor is it all bad, but it is all intertwined into the fabric we are made of.  I pray to learn and grow from each life experience, I am blessed with.

The challenge I face on this the first day of a brand new year is to live life to the fullest for the next 365 days.  I am the only one who can truly make the most of each and every day I have been gifted with.  I am in charge and also charged by my Father to live life in a manner pleasing to Him.  Always with the intent of bringing Him great glory, I am hoping to seek His guidance for the path He has planned for me.

The plan--to assure me of this blessed year--seeking Him--going to the source of the blessings--the well spring of goodness.  Consciously taking steps to enter into a closer and deeper relationship with Him.  Not blindly declaring my intentions, but instead coming up with a plan of how to live this year with purpose and glory seeking.  Entering into His presence and patiently waiting for His direction--asking Him to show me the path He desires for the coming year.

No resolutions here but the full intent to make the most of each and every day of the next 365.  Something tells me if I seek Him and His will-it will be a blessed year!

Brothers and sisters I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it, but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me Heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

  2. This was in my thoughts as I lay in bed early tn the am. I have drifted aimlessly this past year with no intentional direction, just taking one day at a time, keeping safe, not wanting to stray out of my comfort zone. But, I realized that, that in itself was selfish of me. What was I doing to advance the kingdom of God, to show people God's love? It is so easy to enclose oneself and become judgmental. So, today is the first day of the rest of my life and I will choose to intentionally reach for God and love others and learn of Him Thank you, Lora. I have loved your friendship more than you know and I look so forward to growing in Christ with you.

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
