THE DAY AFTER

I have spent the period from November 1st to Thanksgiving writing about
thankfulness.  In a nutshell here is what I came away with-

As we cultivate a spirit of thankfulness our relationship with The Father begins to morph into a deeper more personal level.  By acknowledging Who is the creator--who is the omnipotent God of the universe and beyond, we are able to begin to look beyond ourselves and know who He is.  As we come to acknowledge and thank Him for His gift of grace through the death of His son, Jesus, we begin to realize our dependence upon Him in all things.  As we are able to thank Him for the good, we grow to acknowledge Him in all- the good and the bad.  As we humble ourselves, and admit it all comes from Him, He becomes more real to us and we draw closer to His throne of grace.

Thanksgiving should live in our hearts every day--every season--throughout our lives.  I am thankful He is God.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I Thessalonians 5:18

  1. I totally agree with this post, Lulu.

When we thank God in all circumstances, however bad they may be, we are thanking Him for still being in control of the situation, we are acknowledging His overall power on everything. It is difficult and against our human nature to thank God when things go wrong in our lives. But we should do it all the same; through gritted teeth even. Our thanks and praise open up a channel for God to turn a bad situation into good, for us or those others affected by the situation. I've seen this happen in life.

    God bless you.

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
