BEHOLD!

When I read my daily devotional, I immediately thought, " copy it word for word and say no more".  It is all that needs to be said.  Then I remembered my thoughts recently on God's glory and decided to combine the two.  Once again God has given me a lovely dovetail to ponder.

Recently I read about and began thinking over the glory of God.  There are examples in The Word of how we can not look upon The Face of God.  There are also examples of those God allowed to "see" His glory and the reflection upon their faces after the experience.  There was a recent comment on the blog to which I replied that I did not feel God was my "Buddy" or Friend.  He is SO much more than that!    My friend told me she felt Jesus could be called Friend.  As I thought this over, I realized it was because He became man.  He understands from a personal standpoint our struggles.  He has empathy.    Our relationship with Jesus, though He is God, is different because of His being among us--another human.   GOD IS GOD ALMIGHTY!  His wonders exceed the capabilities of my mind to comprehend.  Would we want to serve a God who was any less?  We dare not look upon His Holy Face and yet He sees our every moment.

Today's devotion concerns God's Holiness.  It needs quoting ~

"Holy means that God is alive on God's terms, alive in a way that exceeds our experience and imagination.  Holy refers to life burning with an intense purity that transforms everything it touches into itself.  The Hebrew word 'holy" (qadosh) probably originally meant separate or set apart.  It came to be used to describe the 'otherness' of God, and how His character and nature are so much greater and more wonderful than any other person or thing.  For something else to the 'holy' simply means for it to be dedicated to God.  You are holy to the extent that your life is devoted to Him and your actions reflect His character.  Holiness and wholeness are closely related and God wants the whole of your life."  Nicky Gumbel

Can I get an AMEN!

SO we are called to worship our Holy God in all His glory.  We are allowed to see glimpses of His Holiness and Glory in His creation He blessed us with.  All creation was dedicated to God and thus is Holy.  Be still---look around---and know that He is God.

"Who is like you among the gods, O Lord?

Who is like You, majestic in holiness.

Awesome in praises, working wonders."

Exodus 15:11

Your comments keep my writing and often cause me to think. A written form of a hug or a pat on the back and an occasional slap into reality---I treasure them all!
